UniSA Motorsport is a Formula SAE student team based at the University of South Australia.
The team consists of students from all the various UniSA Campuses working together across the year to design, manufacture and test the vehicle at the Mawson Lakes Campus.
2019 marked the beginning of our first EV (Electric) Vehicle Entry with our 2019 Competitor, The MLK-19E.
MLK-19E ended the competition with a Design Award for the Ingenuity and Engineering seen in our one of a kind 21700 Based Lithium Ion Battery Pack.
In 2020 the team are working towards refining the 2019 platform into another sucessful vehcle.
Formula SAE is the world’s largest student engineering design competition.
Students from Universities all around the world design, manufacture, test and compete with formula style race vehicles.
There are 2 major vehicle classes in Australia, Combustion and Electric. The Driverless class is yet to begin in Australia.
Every team competes in two event classes, Static and Dynamic.
In the Static events, the team demonstrates their engineering knowledge and development of the vehicle alongside their financial and entrepreneurship skills.
Dynamic Events are where the vehicle is put on track, testing performance in a variety of scenarios: Endurance, Reliability and driver skill.
